Beyond The Margins is an approximately 15 minute documentary film, directed by Derick Esch.  Sponsored by Messiah College Collaboratory and World Vision, the film seeks to reach an audience that is largely unaware of the scope of disabilities in Ghana and West Africa as a whole.  A theme of equality, regardless of ability weaves together the lives of each individual touched by this film and encourages audiences to consider their personal perspective of people with disabilities.

The production team for Beyond The Margins includes experienced crew members who have credits in award-winning documentary and narrative films.  Filmmakers Derick Esch (Producer/Director) and Rodney Green (Screenwriter/Executive Producer)  shot on the Canon C100 and Canon 7D for 2 weeks in Ghana, followed by post-prodution in the United States.  Collaboratory AWDS project manager Nathaniel Kamban (Line Producer), associate college pastor Evie Telfer, and engineering student Elizabeth Bashore also made the trip to Ghana to continue the work of World Vision and the Collaboratory.

In addition to the possibility of a film festival run, World Vision will pick up the film for distribution as an awareness piece for WASH & disability issues.

Beyond The Margins was released in May 2014, and has seen distribution by World Vision International and won awards at multiple film festivals.
