Derick Esch is the Producer / Director of Beyond The Margins. While attending Messiah College as a Film & Media Arts major , he had the unique opportunity to collaborate with other students and faculty members to tell compelling stories of the people in Ghana to audiences in the United States. In addition to his multi-role involvement with Beyond The Margins, Derick’s other film credits include Production Assistant for the feature length film Voiceless (Necerato, 2015), Gaffer / 1st Assistant Camera for the award-winning short film Palace (Rolando Vega, 2013), Production Assistant for Waiting Room (Rebecca Rinker, 2012). He also has numerous commercial credits as the Director of Photography. This project was his first venture into documentary film.
In his free time, Derick enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, skiing, and kayaking. While in college, he was a member of the two-time defending DII National Champion Messiah Men’s Club Volleyball team and the Outdoor Club. Derick currently works professionally in the film/video production industry.
